Maintained primarily by the Michigan Trail Riders Association, the Luzerne Trail camp features beautiful stands of oak and maple and offers a variety of wildlife for hikers and horseback riders. In order to keep the trail camp beautiful, visitors are asked to pack out what they pack in. The Luzerne Trail Camp is located in Oscoda county, Michigan. Mack Lake National Forest Campground, Mio Ranger Station, 107 McKinley Drive, Mio, MI 48647, Phone: (989) 826-3252. Mack Lake Campground provides access to some of the best Off Road Vehicle Trails in Michigan. The lake is surrounded by rolling jack pine plains, which provide nesting habitat for the endangered Kirtland's Warbler. The campground is scenic and secluded. Because the lake is so shallow, fishing is marginal. This campground is located in Oscoda County, Michigan. The nearest community is Mio, about 8.5 miles northwest. From the north, leave M-33 at a point about 4 miles south of Mio. Turn east onto County Road 489 and follow approximately 4 miles to the site entrance. Fact Sheet

McKinley National Forest Trail Camp, Mio Ranger Station, 107 McKinley Drive, Mio, MI 48647, Phone: (989) 826-3252. This large trail camp is one of several campgrounds on the Shore-to-Shore trail. Used primarily by horseback riders, the camp is available throughout the year for hunting, backpacking, biking, and general camping. The campground can easily accommodate large groups. The McKinley Trail Camp is located in Oscoda County, Michigan. The nearest community is Mio, about 9 miles west. From Mio, take county Road 602 east 9 miles to the McKinley Trail Camp access road (Forest Service Road 4004). Turn north and travel 1 mile to the camp. Fact Sheet

Surrounded by National Forest, Wagner Lake campground is peaceful and natural and offers a wide variety of activities. It is the perfect setting for fishing, swimming, or just relaxing. The Wagner Lake Campground is located in Oscoda County, Michigan. The nearest community is Mio, about 8 miles northeast. From the north, leave M-33 about 7 miles south of its intersection with M-72 in Mio. Turn west on Wagner Lake road and go approximately 1 mile to the site.  Fact Sheet
